May Bank Holiday for only €325

April Fri 30th - May Mon 3rd 2010 FULLY BOOKED

Drimoleague is a village which sits in the West of Cork and on the May bank holiday they are hosting a Feile Beag (Small Irish Music Festival) . The festival will run for 4 days over the Bank holiday weekend with guided walks planned during it.
There will be walks of variant distance between 3km - 16km and a choice each day. The walkways have only been formally created in the last 18 months by local farmers and volunteers. They offer a wonderful variety from the gentle stroll to more challenging hill walking.

We will be staying in Bantry which is just a 20 minute drive from Drimoleague in the West Lodge Hotel.

Day 1: Fri 30th - Travel to Drimoleague in Co. Cork

Leave Dublin @ 10am and drive to Bantry in Co. Cork. We will be stopping on the way down for a short break and a bite to eat. When we reach Bantry and you settle into your accommodation, which is in the heart of the town. We can then visit Drimoleague for something to eat and check out some of the the activities in the town.

Day 2: Sat May 1st - Choice of Walk

After a hearthy breakfast we will have our 1st walk in the area with a choice of Castledonovan - Mullaghmessa Loop Walk (14km) or the Lesley Lewis guided nature walk (2hrs). The walks are lead by local guides with plenty of local knowledge and interest in the area. After the walks we can return to our Hotel for a 4 course evening meal (covered in cost) and return if you wish to Drimoleague for some live Irish music and craic in the Drinoleague Inn. If there is enough interest and if you are still able I will host a short evening Full Moon Walk in the area.

Day 3: Sun May 2nd - Castledonavon-Glanbanoo-Lough Bofine (4hrs)

This is a wonderful walk along bog roads with a vlley and ridge to the fishing lake of Lough Bofine.
After the walk there will be live open air music in the village. You can relax and just enjoy the rest of the evening.
