Full Moon Walk GlendaloughThese Full Moon Walks are an excellent opportunity to see beautiful landscape by the light of the moon. The walks will be short 2-3 hr walks starting at 6pm in the evening during the Autumn / Winter months.

You will visit some of the most scenic parts of Wicklow and Dublin, places such as Glendalough, Luggala, Djouce and many more. If you have never had the opportunity to do some night walking then don't miss this as it's an altogether different experience.

There will be 2 walks available on the evening: Starting from Enniskerry Co. Wicklow and Kilsheelan Co. Waterford

Enniskerry about the walk:
This will be a 2 - 3 hr walk around the very scenic area of Glencullen and along part of the the Wicklow way onto Prince William's Seat in the Wicklow Mountains. From this walk we have wonderful views along Ireland's east coast line and over Dublin bay. When we continue on the trail we drop down into Glencullen and along some forested track with plenty of wild deer and views across the south Wicklow mountains.

There is a nice short cut along the trail for those of you who wish to take it easier - a guide will be with you at all times.

No previous walking experience required.

After the walk we normally head back to Nancy Murphy's Pub in Enniskerry to catch up, enjoy a pint and a few sandwiches.

Kilsheelan about the walk:

The walk will take over Slieve na mban "mountain of the women" which is very close by Kilsheelan. The walk is about 5 km 2.5 hrs with an ascent of 500m. This walk offers excellent panoramic views across the whole of the south east coast line and srurriunding mountain regions and is spectacular on a clear night to walk. "This mountain is steeped in mythology. The name is derived from the following legend: Fionn Mac Cumhaill sat waiting at the top while women raced up it to win his hand. Since Fionn and Gráinne were in love, he had shown her a short-cut and she duly won the race. Yeats preferred the name Knockfefin. The mountain rises from the plain of Femen, which represents ‘woman’ or ‘femininity’."
No previous walking experience required.

Afterwards we can meet up in a pub close by, see who we have been walking with and enjoy a pint.

The Guides:
All the guides on theses walks are fully qualified and trained so you are in safe hands.
You will also be trained on the skills of night navigation, gain some knowledge of the stars and you could even experience a night time rainbow.
These walks are very popular so early booking is essential to confirm your place.
