Sunrise Walk in Wicklow

Join us in Wicklow on Saturday December 8th for a winter wonderland trek as we take festive guided walk in Co Wicklow and experience a magical sunrise from one of its
many stunning peaks.
We’ll begin our trek before dawn, taking a trail along part of the Wicklow Way and up the historic Prince William’s Seat. From our highest point we’ll take in spectacular views of the Wicklow Mountains all around us as the sun rises - just like Ireland’s very own North Pole! Each trekker will receive a free Santa suit at registration to help them keep cosy and warm on the morning too!
When ready, we will begin the return leg of our hike and make our way back to the town of Enniskerry where we can enjoy a hearty breakfast with lots of hot tea and coffee..So come along on this festive trek into the winter sunshine and raise vital funds to help change the lives of children all over Ireland!
Trek Date: Saturday 8th December 2012, 06.15am
Walk Itinerary:
• Meet for registration/briefing at the Clock Tower, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow at 6.15am
• Trek begins @ 7am from Curtlestown Wood
• Sunrise occurs at 8.27am
• Hearty breakfast and plenty of piping hot tea/coffee after the trek in The Powerscourt Country House, Enniskerry Village, from approx. 11am

What you will need to bring: Please note it will be dark when starting.
• Hill walking boots and socks (essential)
• Head torch or handheld torch
• Warm top, gloves, hat and scarf
• Wind/waterproof jacket
• Leggings/tracksuit bottoms (not jeans)
• Overtrousers
• Snacks
• Water
• Hot drink
• Rucksack

Costs:
The cost for this walk is €125 per person. Please make a booking deposit of €25 and we’ll send you a fundraising and information pack to help you reach your fundraising target. And of course the Barnardos team are here to support you all the way too.By joining us on our Sunrise Trek, you will be raising vital funds to keep Barnardos services open across Ireland. Your footsteps will help the most vulnerable children in Ireland to find their feet in life.

How Do I get to Enniskerry?
From Dublin city centre take the N11 or M50 southbound. Take the south turn off for Bray. (Brennanstown stables and Enniskerry are also signposted) Come back across the N11 and back for about 500m towards Dublin. There is a left turn at this point that will bring you straight into Enniskerry Village. The Clock tower is in the centre of the village.
