About the walk and event:
The walk will take place in the Wicklow mountains. Walking the sugarloaf near Donard (not the Enniskerry side)
We will be staying over in the Mountain Ventures hostel in the west of County Wicklow close to the small town of Donard. Obviously it’s a very early start so to the bed early for most if possible.Then we will get up at 4am to start the walk up the sugarloaf. We will be at the summit of sugarloaf to enjoy watching the sunrise over the whole of County Wicklow with excellent views out along west Wicklow. We can then enjoy a bite to eat with plenty of time to get some great pictures.
This will definitely be a Kodak moment.When we are ready we will return to the hostel where we can enjoy a hearty breakfast.
The walk will be lead by qualified guides and promises to be an unforgettable experience.

What to bring for the walk.
- Walking boots
- Water
- Head torch or handheld.
- Warm top, gloves, hat.
- Waterproofs (just in case)
- Packed lunch, hot drink.
- Back pack with spare warm top and socks in.
How do I get there ?
The best way to get to Donard from Dublin would be to take the N81 out past Tallaght and towards Blessington. Continue through Blessington keeping on the same road towards Baltinglass. Approx 10Km past Blessington keep an eye out for a sign pointing left towards Donard. Drive staright through Donard keeping to the left and the Mountain Ventures is approx 5Km up this road.All Welcome.
