Wicklow Outdoors Festival:

Walks with HilltopTreks
Weekend of the 16th - 18th of April 2010.

The Venue: The Glencree Visitor Centre stands at the head of the spectacular and unspoiled Glencree valley on the edge of the Wicklow National Park. Here you can observe the wonderful views across south County Wicklow and the Sugar loaf. One of the key facilities within the grounds is the Armoury Restaurant and Craft Centre which is well known for its fresh scones and cream. Here we have carefully selected ranges of lunch and dinner menus to suit all tastes. There is also a bar licence Glencree also provides excellent glencreerefurbished accommodation at very reasonable rates and includes continental breakfast. All rooms are ensuite and looking out over the valley

Friday 16th:  Guided Evening Walk. Free
Meeting at the Glencree Centre @7pm.
These evening walks are very different and great fun.
They provide an excellent opportunity to see beautiful landscape by the light of the moon and also to see some of Wicklow’s nocturnal creatures. The walk will be a short 2-3 hr walk on part of the Wicklow way and over Prince William’s seat where we can stop for a bite to eat and enjoy the scenery.

Saturday 17th:Guided Walk Free
Meeting at the Glencree Centre @11am.

sugarloafThis is a free introductory walk near Glencree in Co. Wicklow. The walk will take place about Upper lough Bray or from Crone Wood depending on weather. The walk will be about 3 - 4 hrs and bring a packed lunch, walking boots and raingear just in case.

 

No previous walking experience required.

Sunday 18th: Yoga Session and Guided Walk Free
Meeting at the Glencree Centre @ 11am.
The Yoga session and Walk is for anybody interested in getting out in the fresh air, going for a walk in the Wicklow area and also trying some yoga.  The Day will involve a yoga session in the morning at 11:00 with a guided walk afterwards.
The Yoga session will warm you up, stretch your muscles and have you ready for the walk ahead. (No previous yoga experience is required) There will also be pilates, healer and other healthy dietary advice available on the day at the center.
